A Long Weekend In Calgary, Alberta

Mama D and I are in Calgary, Alberta and are having a blast! We are in the first long leg of a 3 week trip across Alberta and British Columbia.

We are spending 4 nights here in Calgary and our first day was spent at the Glenbow Museum. We were there with my late uncle’s friend whom we enjoyed the company, sharing memories and had lunch at the famous Devonian Gardens walking through Stephen Avenue.

Our second day was spent at the Calgary tower where we were fortunate enough to witness the shooting of the next season of Amazing Race Canada. It was an Amazing experience! It was a beautiful sunny day, and we enjoyed ourselves as we stayed longer than planned, chatting with crew members and other tourists.

In the afternoon we visited the Lougheed House with its beautiful gardens where we were welcomed by birds flapping their wings in the bird bath. The highlight for me was the stained glass with animals.

Tomorrow on our last day, we will visit the zoo! Stay tuned…
